POSITION TITLE: Director of Pharmacy
POSITION LOCATION: Atlanta, Georgia
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department Director is responsible for management of all departmental functions in support of the facility and corporate mission, vision and goals. The Director identifies cost effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resource availability, and changes in customers. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Director identifies and remedies operational concerns while continuously searching for performance improvement in operations and standards of care. This is accomplished through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.
Responsible for directing, coordinating and controlling the operation of the Pharmacy Department; ensures compliance with Patient Care Quality Standards; directs and controls the purchase and inventory maintenance of all pharmaceuticals and related substances/supplies; directs and participates in the department's planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education, and Human Resource Management activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of College of Pharmacy required; previous experience as Assistant Manager or Manager in a hospital pharmacy desired. Advanced degree in pharmacy administration or business desired.
REQUIRED LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS
Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.
