Assistant Controller

Our client is looking for an aspiring Assistant Controller to join their team.  As the Assistant Controller, you will prepare monthly financials statements, assists in cash flow projections, prepare for audits, assist with annual budgets, tax returns and cost reports. Additionally, you will prepare analysis of monthly variances reports and month-end/year-end close. Prior audit, supervisory and healthcare experience preferred.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of accounting and audit experience (healthcare preferred)
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, variance analysis, cash flow and cost accounting
  • Significant computer skills including Microsoft Office and advanced Excel
  • Experience supervising or managing preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical and interpretive skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, guide and motivate others
  • Proven success working in a team environment 
Responsibilities:
  • Complete monthly financial statements with variance analysis to budget and all account reconciliations
  • Supervises accounting staff as needed
  • Prepares financials for annual audits
  • Assists with monthly-end and year-end close
  • Adheres to all corporate policies and procedures, and third-party agency regulations
  • Keeps current knowledge of regulations and rate sheets through seminars, in-services, conferences, etc.
  • Actively participates as a member of the finance team
  • Responsible for the ongoing operations and routine decision-making within the function, department or site
  • Interprets and applies organization policy, ensuring all activities are in compliance
  • Delegates, organizes and coordinates the daily operations within the function, department or site
  • Promotes and role models a culture of service excellence and customer service within their functional area
  • Creates, promotes and maintains collaborative relationships and partnerships with peers throughout the organization
