Description
Our implementation projects impact every department within an insurance payer organization.  We are seeking a candidate who has successfully worked as a third party vendor on large complex software integration projects while effectively developing and managing different client audiences.  Ideally, the candidate also understands how insurance companies work and how their products interact with every aspect of the internal organization as well as subscribers and members.
 
This process oriented and external client facing position is responsible for managing large and highly complex strategic client projects in a decentralized matrix environment. Apply Agile values and principles to build highly efficient teams to deliver quality software and exceptional value to our clients.  Responsible for developing program/project plans, processes and handling end-to-end program/project management, including confirming and monitoring the project scope and requirements through implementation and deployment.  As the primary point of contact, this position manages the client relationship, client expectations, and project deliverables.
 
Brief Summary of Duties/Responsibilities 
  • Effectively define, manage and execute all project/implementation/delivery plans and deliverables with the customer and our internal teams within established deadlines and budget parameters.
  • Develop and manage resource plans, estimates, change controls, budgets and forecasts with the customer and for internal reporting purposes.
  • Develop and submit Statements of Work and Change Controls for internal review before submission and negotiation with the client.
  • Accurately maintain a monthly analysis to budget against actual for the overall Statement of Work and each resource type within the Statement of Work.
  • Develop action plans with the Development, Business, Modeling and QA Leads to manage and address the aged defect backlog in JIRA.
  • Develop and maintain a register of project risks and include risk status, triggers and mitigation plans on the status reports.
  • Provide feedback to teams and organization to help identify and facilitate process improvements.
  • Establish and maintain daily project scrum meetings and, as necessary but at a minimum of 1x/month, full project team meetings.
  • Responsible for keeping all Project artifacts updated and available.
  • Within established deadlines, accurately manage resource planning activities, reports, etc.
  • No direct supervisory duties, though management of projects includes directing project related activities of the project team members.
 
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; College degree preferred.
  • Current PMP, Prince 2 or ITIL is a plus
  • CSM or PMP-ACP is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years required:  Performing as third party vendor on large complex software integration projects using Agile and/or Waterfall methodology in a decentralized matrix environment.
  • Minimum 5 years required:  Successful large scale ($1+ mil) strategic SDLC project management, domain and process experience in a decentralized matrix environment.
  • Highly Desired:  Experience within the Healthcare Industry, especially claims processing and/or products and benefits management.
  • Highly Desired:  Other types of non-health insurance such as Life, P&C, Disability experience.

  • Advanced software proficiency utilizing various applications which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Microsoft office, project management and document management solutions.
 
Work Schedule
  • This position may occasionally necessitate working additional hours and weekends outside of the employee’s regular work schedule.
 
Travel
  • Based upon project specific needs, local and/or national US travel up to 25% may be required.
