POSITION TITLE: Director-Nursing Education & Research

POSITION LOCATION: Memphis, TN

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Nursing Education and Research, is responsible and accountable for planning and directing orientation and educational programs for nursing development while supporting research activities related to patient care.  Provides leadership for ensuring that nursing standards and practice guidelines are consistent with evidence-based practice, uniform throughout the organization and in keeping with professional and national standards.  Supervises all clinical/cardiac educators.  Manages resources consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the hospital

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors Degree in a Nursing, healthcare related field, or in Education (as a secondary degree) required; advanced degree in clinical, healthcare, or education required, i.e., Masters Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, Education (with a Bachelor in Nursing as a secondary degree).
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years progressive growth in the healthcare setting with a preference of experience in education, quality (or related focus), or nursing leadership.
Professional Requirement: Current licensure in the state of Tennessee, as appropriate.
Proficiency: BLS, ALS, PALS required (instructor-level desirable)
Certifications: Certified in a nursing specialty area (CCRN, CEN, RNC, CNOR, CNEP, CAN/CNAA, or
