DescriptionHospital broke ground in October 2005 on a $340 million dollar major capital expansion project that will enhance our services provided to the many diverse communities of the South Bay. Were building a new and improved state-of-the-art medical facility. Throughout the project, rest assured that the safety and well-being of our patients and their families is our first priority.Hospital overall expansion effort includes the addition of a new, two-story patient wing; four-story, 120,000-square-foot medical office building; a renovated emergency department; a new central plant; and an elevated heliport next to the trauma center/emergency department. In addition, the project will expand hospitals intensive care unit with 10 new beds, redesign operating rooms especially for minimally invasive surgery, add an endoscopy suite, cardiac catheterization labs, new MRI facilities, dedicated CT scan and radiology areas and increased patient parking.

Unit: Manager of Womens Services/L&D

Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, administering and evaluating the operation of a consolidated nursing department. In so doing, assigns duties to department personnel based on patients needs, staffing availability and work priority to ensure high quality of patient care. Serves as resource person for resolving operational and patient care problems.

Acceptable candidates must have previous experience with high acuity level patients. This is a Type B ER/OB that supports a 51-bed Level III NICU with 24/7 ER services. There are 15 labor rooms, 3 ORs, 14 Ante partum beds (Postpartum and Nursery units are separate). There are 80 FTEs and 350 births monthly.
Requirements:- Current California Registered Nurse license required.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing, preferably with a Masters Degree.
- 4 years of management experience required
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration in order to oversee planning and implementation of care.
