DescriptionBe part of an exciting growth phase of a 50-bed community hospital located in a bedroom community just 30 minutes from two major metro areas and one of the midwests most respected universities. This Solucient Top 100 hospital is in need of an experienced OR Manager to oversee the expansion of a 3 suite OR/Endo facility to a new 4 OR facility which will complete in approximately one year. The Manager will be responsible for OR, PACU, Outpatient Surgery and Central Supply and will be over a staff of 30 employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* BSN or Masters preferred; highly experienced ADN will be considered.
* Minimum of five years surgery RN experience required.
* Minimum of two years of surgery management experience required.
* CNOR certification a plus
* Demonstrated high level of communication skills with staff and physicians.
* Experience in rebuilding an OR staff into an energetice, motivated, highly productive team.

PROJECTS/CHALLENGES:
* Service line growth - OR needs to be busier. Surgery is considered a pivotal growth area within the hospital. Manager will have opportunity to be key part of effort to expand surgery services, through participation in the plan to attract more surgeons to the area as well as work with current surgeons to bring more procedures to the facility.
* OR expansion. Manager will be expected to insure a smooth transition to the new OR facility.
* Come in and be a confident, competent leader with strong, firm communications skills and style and willingness and ability to make necessary changes in staff and/or policies quickly. Current department is highly competent and needs strong leadership to make it a more integral part of the hospital overall critical care program.
* Become the true surgery expert for the facility. Assess, and advise administration on, where the department is and where it is going . Understand productivity and use the appropriate tools to optimize the overall efficiency of the surgery operation e.g. optimal staffing models, room turn-over, first case start times, PAR levels, etc.
* PACU and OR team leads are newly appointed and need development. Overall clinical competence of the department has room for improvement.
* Institute better controls over inventory and equipment selection process to minimize inventory and maximize inventory turns.
