We are conducting a search for a certified Infection Control Practitioner for a our client hospital located in Northeastern Iowa. Our client is a community based Joint Commission accredited and certified hospital located in Iowas Cedar Valley.

In this role the Infection Control Practitioner will be part of a 3 person Infection Control team coordinating the hospital wide infection prevention and control program as well as selected projects by directing activities performed by the interdisciplinary team composed of associates, medical staff and external contacts. The infection control practitioner will be responsible for the attainment of hospital goals, recommends policies and practices to improve the quality of services provided by the organization and assist with hospital performance improvement activities. Other responsibilities include planning, implementation and evaluation of infection prevention measures; Education of individuals about infection risk, prevention and control; Development and revision of infection control policies and procedures; Assisting with the management of infection prevention and control activities and the provision of consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention and control strategies. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Our ideal candidate will have the following credentials: Bachelors Degree in nursing required, Masters in relevant field preferred; Iowa State RN License (or eligible); Certification in Infection Control required (CIC); Two years of Infection Control experience in acute-care hospital environment; Experience with Joint Commission, DOH, federal and state infection control regulations; Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; Knowledge and experience in utilizing statistical tools for measurement; Experience with National Patient Safety Goals and IHI initiatives related to infection prevention and control.
